The lovely and almighty Janet, keeper of Vancouver's coolest and most storied venue The Railway Club, was kind enough to ask me to curate a series of shows beginning in May, 2007. The idea was to have a regular event that you could be sure, regardless of what style was being presented, would provide the audience with a very interesting night of music and feature some of Vancouver's finest players and artists. We dubbed it Jeff Younger Presents, and the nights have proven to be a smashing success! I've booked everything from modern jazz to duos singing cover tunes, and it's been really exciting to see the night take hold in the community and provide a nice hang for fans and players alike. Tony Scherr from NYC played in April '08, and we celebrate the series' One Year Anniversary in May, 2008.
Everyone has been stoked on the goings on thus far and the series is set to run full steam into 2009, so the invitation is officially extended: come on down to The Railway Club, every 3rd Tuesday of the month, for a midweek chillout and listen to some of Vancouver's most creative musicians doing their thing.
