Do you ever feel the need to walk the edges of your soul? Do you happen to have an electric guitar, a bunch of foot pedals and weird stuff to stick between and scrape all over your strings? I used to live in a house with a bunch of really caring people that got very concerned for my safety when they heard these sounds coming out of my room.
These explorations are entirely improvised, performed and captured as whole pieces with no edits. I make a point of not thinking about the music at all until I start playing, making for a really exciting and intense process that is always growing, always deepening. Jeff Younger's Devil Loops vol. 1 was release in June 2009, and vol. 2 is to be recorded before 2010 hits. I'm planning a series of cds, a documentation of the subconscious over time, if you will.
