Duo (2005)

Written for violin and cello, this sister piece to "Separate" explores the struggle between the imbedded human need for both singularity a pairing, as witnessed between two individual voices. Traditional conceptions of beauty, harmonious interaction and the nature of emotion are challenged through a combative dialogue where gesture and expression are more important than literality and language.
